Welcome to What's Up Wednesdays (Holy Alliteration) where you get to see a little more of who we are at WWP. This week I'm feeling a tad optimistic - so far from my natural disposition - and it's really owed to my friends. Coming off of a rough week, I lost my Granny last Monday I, as expected was not in the most amazing of moods. Due to parental force, I attended The Neighbourhood's concert that I had been so excited about for the months prior. Blossom (my bestie and fellow WWP writer) ,The NBHD, and the guy in the opening band, Kitten (pictured to the right), with the maraca all helped perk me up. That's something that I will forever be grateful for.
So on to the meat of this post
I'm back in my hometown for spring break and the first 4 days (yes I count the weekend) have been everything and then some. First of all I'm getting life to my tried and true radio stations. No one tells you how important that type of thing is when you go off somewhere to college. How much of your home is the unique sound of your city.
As I mentioned, Saturday I went to see The NBHD. The venue was standing room only as well as slick chic. Super swank. Needless to say that seeing Jesse Rutherford in the actual flesh was almost too much for my senses to handle but luckily I made it through without passing out. Blossom and I had the best time and some amazing conversation to boot.
But what takes the cake in all of swanky and luxurious taste was the movie theater Bubbles (who you'll meet Friday) and I went to yesterday. After we watched Beyonce's visual album and obsessed over YouTube's Superfruit we popped Bangerz into the CD player and jammed to Adore You and #GETITRIGHT on our way to the fanciest movie theater we've ever been too. We went midday so it was all but deserted and we saw American Hustle so it was really empty save a darling old couple and a lone old man who found just about every scene hilarious. The seats were individual with ample armrests for comfort. Simple amazing. The staff was friendly and the giant pretzel (my movie vice) was exceptional.
Those experiences birthed the word swank which is how I've chosen to express any and everything fancy and free. I suggest you get used to it
Well wishes on your quest for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Love
