On June 17th my world is going to stop. An excursion has already been planned for eight in the morning for me and a close compatriot to go out to a fabulous store known as Target, and indulge ourselves in an hour and six seconds of Jennifer Lopez and an hour and ten minutes and thirty-two seconds of Lana Del Rey.
This is going to set me back $35 (14.99 for Lana and 16.99 for Jennifer Lopez + Tax), but that's a bullet I am more then willing to take. I would sell my body for these albums when all I had to do was work five hours at a minimum wage job for them. It was worth it, because it's my first love J Lo and the chic Lana Del Rey.

Mind you the reason my companion and I are going to Target to buy these albums is because as usual Target has the exclusive bonus tracks (“Flipside” for Lana and “Charades”/ “Girls” for Jennifer). These are already on top of the already deluxe edition tracks.
This is where the world is getting crazy. So, now there is not only a standard and deluxe edition, but also exclusive store bonus tracks I'm going to entitle the “Super Deluxe”.
Now with Lana you need all of the music you can get from her on these albums. That's the thing with Lana, is that she's an albums artist. Not just someone you buy one song from and move on. If you look at her YouTube comments you'll see things like “I can't wait for her album”, “Ultraviolence is going to be my life”. These people are not buying the singles “West Coast” and “Shades of Cool”. They're buying Ultraviolence, because they need as much Lana as their brains can absorb. Therefore a super deluxe version of her album makes perfect sense.
Jennifer Lopez on the other hand is someone people like. We just like J Lo. A lot of people are ambivalent to her, but there are not just a ton of J Lo haters in the world. Jennifer also comes from the time when people buy albums, so she's still getting those people to invest in her brand. And, that's another thing about J Lo, when you buy her albums your buying into this luxurious brand.

If you've bought any of her recent albums on physical copy, you know that this a high quality woman. The paper alone is worth buying her albums. I can't explain how luxurious it is and how tantalizing these pictures are. She makes it worth buying these albums on hard copy.
She's also been promoting A.K.A. since forever. She's been dropping songs from this album since early this year. That's why when I saw the initial track list didn't include “Girls”, I tweeted her. I essentially said “Hey, bitch. Did you miss a song?”
Except in a much nicer, kinder way, and if you follow We Wear Pink on twitter you know I've been freaking out for the longest time. You now also have an explanation for that tweet where it says:

That was the day I found out that Target was being licensed to sell the Super Deluxe version with “Girls” and this other song “Charades” on it. Mind you Japan was getting these songs from the very beginning. I tweeted her telling her that she better not make me fly to Japan on the 18th (They're getting it a day later then we are) in order to get a hard copy of these songs.
Thankfully, she responded correctly by giving it to us on a Super Deluxe version. Not that this would have affected my long term love for J Lo. It just would have been a shady period.

Both took divine inspiration from the vintage glamour of black and white
I also realize that for a Friday Favorite article, that these albums haven't come out yet. But, I know that there going to be great. I don't need to hear them to know I won't be disappointed.
So, on June 17th grab a friend, go out by yourself, do whatever as long as you can get there, and get to Target to buy these albums that will become new cornerstones in your music collection.

If you actively read WWP you should be familiar with "I Luh Ya Papi" (It was featured on one of our Media Mondays), if not here are some clips from it. One of the songs off her new album is entitled "Booty" and I just have to wonder. Is it hers or these boys above? I think they deserve their own shrine, so the song probably is about her.
The "Remix" is now the official version and simply includes a few lines from Tyga
As far as music that's been released recently. I've been living for Miranda Lambert's “Platinum”. It give me everything I need from Miranda and more. What albums have you been living for recently or are about to come out that you just can't wait for? Has Coldplay's “Ghost Stories” been doing it for you (It has for 466,000 Americans so far) or have you been supporting an icon who's referring to herself as the “Elusive Chanteuse”?
